Where can I download a weapon mod like on nexuiz ninjaz server?

Huh?

"Weapon mods"? Are you talking about the new weapons on the NN servers? If you are, you need to d/l the Nexuiz SVN build system [url=http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~rpolzer/nexuiz/builds/Nexuiz%20SVN%20Build%20System.zip]here[/url] and run build.bat. Before you run the batch file, you should read the readme in the SVN build system. After the batch is done downloading and compiling nexuiz, copy your cfg from your old nexuiz data folder to the new data folder in the nexuiz build system (the data folder is in the folder nexuiz). After that is done, run either "run-wgl.bat" or "run-sdl.bat" depending on what you normally run for nexuiz 2.4.2 (you would run "run-sdl.bat" if you would use "nexuiz-sdl.exe", or vice versa.).

After all of that is done, drop the console and run any map that you want. When it's loaded, drop the console again (if it's not already there) and type "sv_cheats 1" and then "restart". After the map has been restarted, type "impulse 99", which will give you all the weapons (including the new ones), and 999 Health/Armor points.

If that's not what you meant, I don't think I can help you much. You would have to play on SVN servers that have the new weapons on if you don't want to download the build system and compile NexuizSVN. Even then, you wouldn't be able to play with the new weapons on your own server if I'm thinking correctly. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, please do so. As far as I know, the only way to have the new weapons without having to download a newer build of nexuiz SVN is to play on the servers that have them, although, as I said before, you wouldn't be able to use them on your own without SVN.

you should be able to see the new weapon models by just using 2.4.2 and going to an svn server like the nexuiz ninjaz server. you do not need svn.

Well i would really love it if you at least try to make people clear that what they see on the NN server is the current development version or else people WILL ONCE AGAIN get confused about releases, when they happen, what they are or we end up ONCE AGAIN with some stupid that puts up some file as 'new release'.. and honestly people should only install the dev version if they have a certain grasp about that this means :P

I'm not 100% clear on whether that was directed at me but I just wanted to let you know I'm going at the pace that I can. What I see and what the rest of the community sees aren't always the same things. People go and make assumptions claiming I'm trying to be deceptive when I feel like I make things [url=http://www.nexuizninjaz.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=643]perfectly clear[/url]. I dedicate a little extra time to another area and people get all in a twist about things they've been exposed to more often than I have. I'm working on a different part of the Nexuiz community, concerning server administration and marketing and people give me shit about what they _haven't_ been seeing improvement on. This is a lot of work that I've been doing to benefit Nexuiz more than the Ninjaz, in fact I've had to neglect some things concerning the Ninjaz. This is a lot of work that falls on my shoulders and for what? Someone to always find something to complain about.

I have a plan, I have a list of priorities. I've been dedicating a lot of time to getting myself organized both virtually and physically so I can execute these as efficiently as possible. I'd appreciate HELPful suggestions about how I can improve things I'm not currently focused on so I can either execute them quickly or throw then on the pile based on how it falls in line.


How about a quakec coder makes good use of that mikeeusa warning divVerent made and turns it into an MOTD people actually read?

No, actually it was directed at those two right before me.. i mean its nice to tell people whats going on but it should also be made clean WHAT EXACTLY. The Nexuiz team already had the problem that people uploaded beta builds to news sites and download sites claiming that a new final version is out.. In fact people already tried something similar with the current beta builds which is why they are password protected now! I just feel like if people are just being told how they can install the develeopment version it increases the danger that things like this will happen again. Unless ofc people are exactly told what is happening.

Your idea is actually quite good.. maybe the beta logo should also be reenabled in svn..

I didn't mean to be overly defensive, I've just been scrutinized recently for things out of my area of focus. I'm just trying to keep things positive so we can all work together towards a common goal. I do agree beta builds being distributed as a final release is a bad thing.

I never said anything about the svn build. thats why i said all you need to do to see the new weapons is be on an svn server with a 2.4.2 client. I dont think i did anything wrong.
