I decided to repost this from Clan Talk so more people would notice.
Ok guys, we really need more NA clan activity. At the moment, the only matches that ever happen are between either MiT and M, or MiT and V. GT, [o], ReV, and prae havent played any matches for a while and we need to change that. Clan matches used to be a big deal and were always very exciting, but now they barely exist. My suggestions:
[o]: Get united, get active. I always considered you guys to be the best all-around clan.
[GT]: You guys have new members now, but you hardly play matches anymore.
[ReV]: Theres almost always 2 or more of you guys on, but I never see any matches.
[prae]: You guys would be alot of fun to play, and a great challenge, but I've never seen you guys do clan match.
-V-: Generally around for 2v2's but never more
I'm not trying to insult any clans, I just want to see some more matches to liven things up again :D
I can't speak for everyone else in [o], but I doubt there's any actual plans to become active again at the moment. I feel stupid because a couple weeks ago I tried to talk to a couple of our members about maybe starting to play again, who would be willing to practice and do some scrimms and then I pretty much stopped playing. Heh, I don't know what I was thinking. Oh well.
For [o] to get active, it would need to recruit a completely new line up, because there's no one actually active in the clan, we've pretty much become a community in itself, as strange as this might sound. We're more friends hanging out on irc and playing some games from time to time for fun than anything else, that or we're either working on some ideas, mods, scripts, maps, giving lessons, etc. And we would need to pick a new leader because Doku also is inactive (unless things changed while I was gone) and told us we could either let the clan die or make changes within the clan as we see fit. But at this point I don't think any of us has the motivation or time for this task, so there's nobody in charge of scouting for new recruits or anything else.
I could be wrong but I also don't think any of the [o] members would be interested in leaving and joining other clans, so... no idea. I personally wouldnt leave the clan for any reason other than if the everyone else left, I don't know if it's just because I'm loyal or something, but I just like those guys.
So, who knows what's gonna happen...
Hmm, ok, I could see something brewing in the next month or so. But Nifrek is right that [o] would likely need a few more recruits to make sure it has an active lineup. I was at the center of clan activity for many months, trying to setup clan matches, scrimmages, etc. It was successful while it lasted, but then I got busy with life stuff starting back in June. I started placing focus on a website project (nexuizninjaz.com) to help organize clan activity, but that project never materialized.
So I would be interested in another surge of activity if I had help in maintaining it. Months ago, when we started having the most clan activity where we had attempts to hold matches every week, half of those attempts to organize a match failed. Just getting people to show up, and then join the correct team and then press F4 to start was hell. So if we're going to do this again, that is, have another surge of activity, then I would like to make sure everyone in the respective clans understands how the clan matches are supposed to happen.
And it would be great if everyone gets headsets and starts to use voice chat on Mumble. That is something that I would want to do.
Let's get a list of the clans in the community now, because there are some new ones that have cropped up recently.
In [ReV] we have been distracted by the recent drama by [M] to play any clan matches. We would be glad to play some we have tried, but it seems like planning them and getting people to show up is difficult. On the spot scrimmages or matches are possible for us, we usually have 2-5 people on at a time and we are ready for some action ;)
You guys should know:
the EU clan 'allstars' founded by kojn is always ready for matches with clans from NA.
-z- has set up a pretty good server ( I have ~140 ping, kojn ~110, so: yeah, pretty good),
perhaps we could use it for some matches?
But take care, allstars plays only TDM atm.

If I could add, I am recruiting many members from far and wide for the unnoobs, and once I get enough, I will be ready for some 1v1 action.
Um, you mean "Scrim" action, right? :P
