Hello. Well many of you know I am Australian, for those who don't.... Well I am :).
I have a problem. The friendly australian players on #nexuiz.au are trying to get me to play over there... But if I play with a good ping, when I go to the US servers I'm 100% worse...
I would like to be able to work on my skills and be able to play without complaining about lag, but I feel as if my nexuiz life is in the US servers... But I have US based clan (GT) running and if I go to the Aus servers well I've just turned my back on a year old clan.
So do I chose the Aus server and play more there than US or chose the US server and continue to hardly ever play at the Australian servers.

Maybe I should try a 70/30.... 70% US 30% Aus... That looks like the best option. But I'll be lost, I won't know how to aim at the US servers if I do.

The Ninja Servers are in California, I'd imagine you'd get a pretty good ping on those compared to something east coast like galts. What kind of pings do you get on the two?

I haven't played at the nn servers lately so I don't know what ping I get, I'll check them out in a few days time.
Shaggy, I really think if there are any AU players (or NZ players, anyone in that region) then you should push to get them to build up more players!
Then you could do what Militia did and have two divisions. They have NA and Europe. You could have Oceania and NA divisions of GT.
You could make your Aus division called [}{] like you said recently in IRC :-)
Just a thought. If I lived in Aus, that's exactly what I would do...essentially all of those steps to build up clan activity in the US Nexuiz community.
You could practice with some US people on the NN servers in california, where the ping difference should be more balanced.

I get around 200 ms ping when it's good. I imagine shaggy will have similar results. (I'm also Australian...)

Lately we've had a sharp increase in the number of Nexuiz players down under. Some friends and I started playing a while ago, and the regular presence of a small number of people on one of the (five) Australian servers here has meant that an increasing number of players are coming to the game: until recently, the few Australian servers were almost always empty, which, of course, meant that no serious players played on them. But things are changing now! Though you say shaggy should push us to build up more players, in fact it is we who have been pushing shaggy to join our swelling ranks.

This is truth. There is another one being formed, by shaggy's brother no less, which, for the numerically impaired, will make a grand total of three clans Down Under. Unfortunately, we have yet to play our first clan match... we have tried on two occasions, but both times had to stop due to "technical difficulties" (one time a player's Windows machine crashed, and the other time two guys had an unplayable connection to the server). Regardless, we have a server set up, running the tourney mod, and with the official ladder rules, and are hoping to have a successful third attempt at the first clan match sometime "soon".
In case anyone is interested and does not know, aside from shaggy, there are perhaps two antipodean players with whom you NA/EU folks may be familiar. They are TacoBell and Aexa/Snoopy/Fox/xaiioax, and are both playing increasingly often on the Australian servers. Yay!

That isn't a bad idea... Split the clan into an aussie clan and a US clan... 6/7 US, 6/7 Aus/NZ... I like it. But then I'm still not sure which clan I should be in. The Aus clan could be, ^2[^3GT^2] or other way around, ^3[^2GT^3]... But not sure anymore.. I'll talk to you on irc about it.

-z- is right though: for me at least, Galt's servers tend to have 100-200 ms higher ping than the NN servers.
Yesterday shaggy was playing on the Australian CTF server (yes we have only one) and it was awesome. I hope he stays... we need more good players! 
I'll most likely be around until I'm off my break from nexuiz. (Which isn't really a break, I'm still here. More like a reduced time of nexuiz.)
