hi everybody
i just hooked up an x-box 360 controller to play nexuiz with
and the good news is it works, and there are enough buttons for everything(minus 1 for every weapon).
i have one problem though.
the z axis is on the triggers of the controller.
so i need to figure out how to change the z axis so that i can actually use my controller.
Can anyone help?

using a controller for a first person shooter is the single worst idea in the world, even someone who has just installed but is using keyboard/mouse will push your shit

Heh, i know how to make it readable.. in worst case pressing reply shows you the text with markup so one can read it for sure. Still its not like people want to solve two riddles, the first being to make stuff readable :)
Yet.. to the topic: I'm not totally sure, there are several console commands to tweak the joystick usage and you can find them there:

The sdl variants use joy_XXX while nexuiz.exe uses just joyXXX. Stuff like joy_axisforward sounds like what you want..

yesterday i led the team on capture the flag & i was able to hang with the ace in deathmatch.(kind of) so i think i'm on to something. plus u guys have to understand my logic. I'm starting the [216] clan, and i want my friend who play call of duty for the x-box to get nexuiz and join my clan. so i configured the controller close to the configuration for call of duty. I have been using the axises for a joystick in the in-game console. But i need to switch the z axis to the right stick somehow.
PS - i'm colorblind so i can read my post - lol
Hehe, well dark blue on black IS a bad contrast..
I hope those variables help you, i never tried to play with a joystick as i'm basicly a keyboard/mouse person :)
me too but i have a joystick to for fly airplane games.
