RE: The Nexuiz Ninja Theme
Ok, that is an interesting story, but its not true, the ninjas were there earlier, they were evil, the darkness, the samourais were farmers who wanted to defend theire homes, against the evil ninjas.

Off course, the ninjas always look cooler, because they are evil, unconsciously we think that the evil personnages are kewler.
In movies to, you always want the bad guy to win because they look cooler.

As I stated earlier without insult to your previous misguided post Medjay, I have over 30 years of experience with this Subject matter, and I am a REAL teacher of Ninjutsu. I know the real facts, not rumour based on fiction.

Samurai were NOT farmers, nor were they EVER farmers, their family-lineage were aristocratic and never worked doing anything so 'lowly' like farming. They served ONLY the Emperor (Who was a Tyrannical Warlord) as his special 'police' - like SS soldiers to Hitler. Somehow your information got confused about WHO was the farmer and who was doing the merciless killing.

When a Samurai was presented a new blade, they were bound by their code to NEVER draw the blade without drawing blood, therefore, many innocent civilians were killed without reason.

If you don't believe me, look it up. There are several online sources you can check to validate what i'm saying. (Read any articles by Stephen Hayes on the Origin of the Ninja, as an example).

Whatever you do - DO NOT use 'Wikipedia' as your source of truth - that information is NOT regulated by Scholars, but rather edited by children who believe fanciful tales and misguided fiction.

Be a scientist - research what you are going to state as 'truth'. I've studied feudal Japan since in 1986, and I lived there from 1988-1990. I also speak Japanese and have read several historical scrolls in their original form.

Peace,

~Tenshihan

No need to apologize my friend. When I was a teenager - all of the movies about Ninja presented them ONLY like assassins, ...so to anyone who doesn't research the truth, it WOULD appear as if they were 'evil'. And yes - Ninja DID do Assassinations as well when the Target was a danger to their own family's livelihood.

Ninja were mainly family's who just wanted to survive each new Emperor's power-hungry and blood-drenched insanity.

However, because they were up against the Government (Emperor's regime), many false stories about their family's were spread around to discredit them, dishonour them, have them hunted down and either killed, or made to work for the Emperor as his Assassins (Which is where all the bad stories come from) - because if they DIDN'T, the Emperor would have their family's executed.

Hahah, please don't perform Hari-Kiri! We NEED YOU HERE BROTHER! ;)

Peace,

~Tenshihan

Well, try to imagine a combination of a President and a King, ...that's a basic idea of what the Emperor was = A monarch of sorts.

In Japan, the Shogunate (Shogun) was in control of all Military function, and answered ONLY to the Emperor, ...even the Shinto Priests could only advise (but could not control) what the Emperor did.

He ruled all the classes beneath him and was pretty much considered the Supreme Ruler of Japan. However, throughout Japanese history there WERE uprisings of inner-political turmoil between the Shogunate and the Emperors regime.

Sometimes it wasn't easy for the public to really know who was truly in-charge, ...but what it DID boil down to was this; "Whoever commands the armies, leads the nation."

Same as it is today.

Unfortunately - it isn't wisdom that leads, but rather the potential to execute violence.

RE: The Nexuiz Ninja Theme
Some very interesting stuff there Tenshihan. Well developed and articulated. I feel honored to have someone so knowledgeable in our presence.

I haven't yet had the time to research the history of ninja as deep as I would have liked to. I figured it was something time would help unfold. With that said, I find it fascinating that many of the feelings I've had about the back story and combat strategies align. In my heart, I never saw ninja as evil, especially the ninjaz.

In my mind and through the creation of this community I strive to practice my life as an art. Everything from schooling to getting the milk out of the fridge, I identify with the methods we've developed as the 'way of the ninjaz' (WWAND?). Concise, efficient actions. Fair use of power. Respect and understanding. These are just a few of the values I hold myself to when considering my actions.

I see ninjaz as guardians of what is right, ethically speaking. Doing what is best for their community, not just themselves. I'm a believe of utilitarianism, specifically in doing the most good for the highest number of people while still being able to help yourself. I require no one to share these views but my respect goes out to those do. Through training and challenging of one's self, we develop exceptional amounts of knowledge within our respective realms. True ninjaz know how and when to use this power. There is an art in learning but a greater feeling of accomplishment knowing you're helping others learn with you.
Inspire your neighbor, they'll inspire you back.

See, that's why I like you -z-, because in EVERY post i've ever read of yours, you DO exude the Ninpo (Ninja) philosophy, ...always helpful, supportive, and never demeaning, those are the TRUE values of a righteous leader. You don't bully - you educate. I actually found out about Nexuiz because I was looking up a Ninja Clan and found this site, ...then I read your posts and decided, "These are my kinda guys, they work hard to bring an excellent game FREE to the public".

How do you PROVE generousity more than that? (This team WALKS it's talk) The rest is history. I joined here because I like the family-attitude, it's like a virtual Clan, ...and if my sounds make it a more enjoyable experience, then that's great for everyone! :)

I wrote some things for my students that some of you might like reading here, some are quoted from other sources - now so long ago absorbed by me that I can't recall the original author's now, but most of these are mine, and have already been passed around the internet in some shape and form. I'm not religious, but I have studied world religions since 1986, and you will see that some have influenced me, only - without the rhetorical dogma. You may recognize certain patterns here, ...they are all based on Respect & Empathy:

Tenshi-Ryu Ninjutsu Creed

I live by the code of Universal Moral Law,
I serve justice, mercy & compassion and will only use my skills to
defend the helpless & protect the innocent.
It is my duty to live with honor & show courtesy to everyone I meet.
I hereby pledge my abilities and loyalty to the advancement of all life.
"With great power comes great responsibility!"

~Shihan: Michael David Quinn, 2000.

---------------------------------------------------
The Old Code

A Knight is sworn to valor,
His heart knows only virtue,
His blade defends the helpless,
His might upholds the weak,
His word speaks only truth,
His wrath undoes the wicked.
- Knights Templar, 789 AD
--------------------------------------------------

LIFE-SKILLS

1) Do not associate with negative people or their bad lifestyle-habits.
(They always bring you down with their dark attitude!)

2) Take responsibility for your own life! (Don't EXPECT "help" to come along.)

3) Don't make promises you aren't sure you can keep.

4) Identify the cause of problems and prevent them from happening in the first place! (Think BEFORE you act!!!)

5) Coincidences are really opportunity in disguise. Make the connection!

6) Research the areas that you are interested in and make friendly contacts in those areas. (Network yourself!)

7) Never postpone anything, do it NOW!

8) Establish your authority and earn respect by PROVING your abilities, skills & knowledge are superior.

9) Always do your best, ...never do anything half-assed!

10) Don't be critical, cynical, or sarcastic, ...it's emotionally degrading, and it makes YOU look petty.

11) Learn from your mistakes, ...and never repeat them!

12) Let go of useless emotions like guilt, shame & blame, ...they're counter-productive.

13) Anger is just one letter short of Danger! Spread joy, not anger!

14) Don't waste time competing with others; break through your OWN Limitations and Fears.

15) Don't lend out anything you aren't prepared to give up. Don't borrow anything you can't replace.

16) Learn to be non-materialistic, after all, when you die, you can't take anything with you.

17) Treat others the same way that you want to be treated.
(Exercise empathy and show compassion to others.)

18) When in a position to lend a hand, expect nothing in return for your good deeds; Real charity has no strings attached.

YOUR BODY IS YOUR TEMPLE:

1) Using Drugs and alcohol will repress your evolution. (Everything in moderation people!!!)

2) Eat only raw natural food, and lots of clean water.

3) Stay away from artificial, chemical-preservatives, processed junk food, fast food, Mono-Sodium-Glutamate (MSG), salt, sugar, pop, and MILK-PRODUCTS! Cows milk is for BABY-COWS, not for humans - do the research if you don't 'get it'.

4) Read the ingredients, if you don't know what it is, don't put it in your mouth - stupid! :P

5) Sleep 6 to 8 hrs, and stay active, get OUTSIDE!!!

6) Have time for you! For just ONE hour; Unplug the phone and turn off everything electrical, No Television, no Video-games, no Internet-surfing, No Instant-Messaging, no friends, no family, ...just YOU, GUILT FREE!!! When did you last pick-up a good book and have a nice hot tea? Hmmn?

7) Don't worry about anything trivial, stress ages you, learn to play & have fun!

8) Take a half hour to meditate, focus on your goals and fully accept them as already unfolding.

9) Stretch your body, exercise, run around, jump, sing, dance, go for a walk! - Just do something FUN today!

UNIVERSAL MORAL LAW:

1) We are the caretakers of this world.

2) You must respect yourself, others, and all life.

3) We must preserve the beauty of Nature. All life is sacred & must be treated so! This includes Trees, plants, and Animals.

4) Eat & drink only natural foods; chemicals slowly kill you.

5) We must regulate, not over-populate our planet!!!

6) You must not harm or cause temper to one another.

7) You are responsible for your own life. Guilt, shame & blame are irrelevant!

8) Learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind.

9) Stop your Eyes from Judging, by merely Listening with your Heart.

~Tenshihan

PS: To -z-, "I require no one to share these views but my respect goes out to those do." ...that is one of the BEST examples of personal evolution i've EVER read.

RE: The Nexuiz Ninja Theme
Truely some inspirational writing you have shared with us. I agree with nearly all points and the ones I don't may require a little growth on my part.

I try to eat healthy but it's not always feasible due to external circumstances. When I don't, I feel sick. It's a shame so many people are willing to settle for less. By supporting these megacorps, we're getting mega crops, which are mega craps of bullshit.

In the United States, genetically mutated/engineered food does not need a label. Foods loaded with preservatives, sugars and other chemicals start overtaking shelfs. Then they come out an 'organic' line, which is what the food was before they started cutting costs and now their trying to charge you double because you're one of the few health conscience Americans. While saving a few cents at your megalomart, you're sacrificing quality of life and slowly ruining it for others. Making some asshole(s) rich so he can make your life worse.

Soda is carbonated syrup... In nature, sugars are a treat.

I've considered living in a commune in my future life.

Thank you for your kind words.
Inspire your neighbor, they'll inspire you back.

RE: The Nexuiz Ninja Theme
Thanks again -z-,

Jeez, it's freaky sometimes, reading your replys; "Then they come out an 'organic' line, which is what the food was before they started cutting costs and now their trying to charge you double because you're one of the few health conscience Americans." ...that sounds EXACTLY like Me, ...especially about the megacorps/government corruption aspects!

Yeah - I ALSO want to form some sort of natural society away from the rest of humanity, ...something back to basics, only WITHOUT any kind of insane religious aspects where people behave like a cult. I always wanted to create an artistic/creative/scientific community where free-thinkers could share their love of nature, combine their efforts in the discovery of Free-Energy and the secrets of the Universe, and just be at peace without the risk of war on them by some tyrannical capitalist government. But humanity is too slow to evolve in awareness of this aspect, and what's worse, they don't stand-up for what's right, ...which is why i'm an isolationist. :/

Still though, if I ever had the money - I WOULD build an isolated retreat away from the rest of humanity, and invite only like-minded individuals. Originally I wanted to change the world, but people nowadays are so hypnotized/brainwashed into being fat lazy stupid morons - by the media and food they ingest - that they really CAN'T think for themselves, and so my hope in humanity has dwindled to damn near nothing. Now, my only hope is in meeting a few individuals like yourself, who think deeply, and use their reason to make the RIGHT choices.

Cheers,

~Tenshihan
