[Help Me] Map Repository

Hey ninjaz, a little while ago, I started working on a new design for the nexuiz map repository. Due to some miscommunication, lack of information and loss of concentration, the project was sidetracked.

The database/backend are ready to go. Problem? I don't have all the information about the maps (i.e. game types, author, etc.). I don't want to replace the current map repository until the new one has more accurate information (which missing gametypes does not qualify as). Can anyone volunteer to help gather this information? If this list is accurate enough, we can generate .mapinfos to fix all the outdated custom maps amongst other things :).

yay! This is a very exciting project. If anyone can help out, it would be a big help to map designers and server admins. This is something that ANYONE can help with (not just a programmer or map designer). It's just a very tedious process to collect all of that information.

Maybe this effort can be combined with that new thread that esteel started working on, which appears to be descriptions of the maps.

you can use his descriptions as part of the repo information as well, but while people are collecting descriptions, perhaps they can analyze each map and note the gamemodes supported.

As mentioned in my progress report to the [in progress] Demo Repository thread, Mirio has assisted in gathering gametype information starting at the top. If someone could start at the bottom and meet him half way it'll help us all out a lot.

He is using an excel spreadsheet following a format as follows:

pk3 | Map Title | DM | TDM | LMS | Arena | Rune | DOM | Key Hunt | CTF | Onslaught

We can also use map descriptions if you'd like to tag one onto the end.

Is it enough to copy the information from the PK3 or is there anything else to it? What about the format? Other columns like author, for example.
And about the file format: i use OpenOffice. See if you can open my XLS.

Well you'll need a combination or what the pk3 says (author's definition) and the .mapinfos say (nexuiz's guesses). Use your best judgment.

I will take any additional information you can find.

author, description, md5 and anything else you think necessary.
